This post may disappoint you as the products have disappointed me to the hell. You may ask, why am I wasting time writing about something that’s not worth writing then. It is because I want you to know more about the product so that you don’t go ahead and regret like I did. This is yet another post about the Garnier Ultra Blends Henna & Blackberry Shampoo and Conditioner. Recently, I have reviewed another pack from the same range. That was not a good experience and I had to go through another one soon after that. You may say Tough luck, mate.
Claims & Packaging
It says it helps in reviving the hair with blends of natural extracts and contains precious natural ingredients finely selected for their known efficacy on hair. It is blended with Henna and Blackberry which nourishes the hair and gives incredible shine.
Packaging is amazing. Bright and eye catching. The shampoo comes in a super cute and attractive translucent purple colored plastic bottle with a golden cap. It is a gel based shampoo which has a pretty purplish color. It has a bit runny texture which dilutes easily with the water.
If you have a sensitive nose like I have then you are going to get irritated by the fragrance of it. I started getting a headache due to the strong artificial smell, especially of the shampoo. The conditioner is still better in this case. The shampoo has a truly dangerous smell and not soothing at all (and I love berries). 😀
The shampoo lathered really well and I didn’t have to use more than a coin sized amount for my long hair. The fragrance lingered for almost 3 to 4 hours after I shampooed. This product also contains glycerin and castor oil. These two ingredients are great hair nourishing agents that prevent dryness in hair. In spite of all these goodies, there are also some harmful ingredients present in this shampoo. Sulfate, silicone compounds and alcohols are among those harmful constituents!
To be honest, the product combined did nothing for my hair. I have frizzy dry hair and this product made my hair more unmanageable. The product has loads of good things in it but is in vein for my hair. I really liked the stylish packaging and wanted it to work for me but nothing good came from it. I felt my scalp became oily faster and also scalp started itching. Maybe that’s because of the sulfate but I had to stop using it. The only good thing is the price point and the availability.
- Attractive, travel-friendly packaging
- Has a long-lasting scent
- It comes in different sizes and easily available in stores
- Product is pocket-friendly
- It is a paraben free product
- Sulfates may cause itchy scalp
- Doesn’t add volume
- Doesn’t give any result
- Not very effective in taming frizzy and unruly hair.
- The shampoo contains SLS.
- Doesn’t work much for nourishment
So, there it is. My honest review about the product that I did not like. I have already written about the 5 Precious Herbs Shampoo and Conditioner from the same range. You may check the article Here.
